Germany; Army orders additional  22  PzH 2000 SP Howitzers

Rheinmetall, a leading technology group based in Düsseldorf, has won a contract from KNDS Germany for the supply of key components for the German Bundeswehr’s self-propelled howitzers, the PzH 2000. The contract, valued at approximately €135 million, involves the production of 22 L52 weapon systems and their chassis, replacing systems previously given to Ukraine.

The order includes the delivery of 22 155 mm caliber weapon systems and an equal number of chassis for the PzH 2000, showcasing Rheinmetall’s capacity as a leading expert in 155 mm artillery weapons. Known for its innovation in weapon and ammunition technology, including the renowned 120 mm smoothbore cannon for battle tanks, the company continues to bolster its reputation as a reliable partner in the defense sector.

The Bundeswehr’s decision to procure these additional units from Rheinmetall underscores the ongoing confidence in the quality and reliability of the PzH 2000 system.
